I live in West Hartford, Connecticut only a few miles in either direction from the homes of Mark Twain and Noah Webster. I work contentedly as an educator for the Town of Glastonbury. When I am not at work, I do what I can to help my remarkable -and she is remarkable- wife raise our children.

The Monkey's Paw Trilogy was never something I set out to create. It is an unexpected creation, the result of a decade-long question and a serious bout of insomnia. There is a reason this story has hung around for so long. It's simple. It's brief and it's entertaining. "The Monkey's Paw" is commonly taught in school and is a great way for students to cut their teeth on the short story form. This reworked addition reads very close to the original. This reader, at least, didn't notice any of the new writing intruding on Jacobs's work, and that's a good thing.
