Overview

In Agatha Christie's second Hercule Poirot novel, the great detective travels to France in response to a desperate cry for help - only to find his client stabbed to death on a golf course, with a passionate love letter in his pocket. Then another identical murder follows...

Following his award-winning recording of The Picture of Dorian Gray and Agatha Christie's The Mysterious Affair at Styles, TV star James Warwick narrates The Murder on the Links. James Warwick starred in Agatha Christies' Partners in Crime TV series on Masterpiece Theater and brings his trademark authenticity and style to this delightful recording, which is followed by a short exclusive interview with James Warwick, Alison Larkin and a surprise guest.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

The plot is really clever.

Literary Review

A remarkably good detective story which can be warmly recommended.

New York Times

Welcome back, Miss Christie. Our current hellions can do with a reminder of how to slaughter an audience with a little bit of style.

Gregory Maguire

SEPTEMBER 2021 - AudioFile

This adaptation of a classic Christie whodunit to vintage radio drama format is absolutely delicious. Evocative music and portentous sound effects greatly enhance the fun, and the cast is superb. Many great actors have taken on the fussy little Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, but none better than Alfred Molina here. His Poirot is still punctilious and obsessive, but also warm and funny as he sorts out a blindingly baroque murder plot and keeps insisting it is totally obvious. Simon Helberg charms as Poirot’s enthusiastic young sidekick and the story’s narrator. Kate McAll’s script deftly compresses the puzzle into the length of a stage play, giving the actors ample scope to show off their dramatic chops while keeping the plot coherent. High praise to all.
