Margery Louise Allingham was an English writer of mystery and detective fiction, best remembered for her stories featuring gentleman sleuth Albert Campion. She also wrote a number of non-series stories, some under the pseudonym of Maxwell March.

"The Mystery Man of Soho" features Detective Inspector Bob Fisher of Scotland Yard. Although it is a book length novel, it was published in the December 1946 issue of the magazine "Thrilling Detective".
