Overview

Fargo ain’t afraid of the dark…

Skye Fargo’s making his way back east to St. Louis when he comes across a horrible sight on the Nebraska prairie—a burning cabin, and an entire family shot execution-style and laid out. He soon learns that there’s a killer on the loose—smallpox. But there’s someone out there worse than the disease. They’re called night riders, and they’re out to make sure that anyone with smallpox—and those near them—don’t live long enough to spread the illness. Now, the Trailsman is going to give the cowardly killers a dose of their own medicine…

LOOKING FORWARD!

DEAD MAN WALKING

“If you don’t stop, I’ll shoot you in the leg,” Fargo warned. The Colt leaped into his hand, but before he could shoot, the speckled apparition sprang with surprising speed. Barely in time, Fargo skipped aside. He found himself with his back to a stall, and the way out cut off.

The man’s waxen features contorted, but whether in a grimace or a grin, Fargo couldn’t say.

Suddenly light flooded the barn. Russ Cepna had opened the door all the way and was saying, “What’s taking so long—” Catching sight of the man, he blurted, “Byerly! What in God’s name?”

The living nightmare turned toward the farmer. Curling his fingers like talons, Byerly lurched toward him.

“Byerly, no!” Russ skipped backward, or tried to. He tripped and fell to one knee.

The thing called Byerly was almost on him when a shotgun blasted. . . .
