Overview

The New York Phantom - I had just turned seventeen when I was first told of the extraordinary, but strange story of the Radio City Music Hall Phantom.
It was said he'd appeared on stage after a performance in 1939. Had killed someone, had taken a lover to the underground city he'd built and only appears on the rising of a Harvest Moon. I have no idea what a harvest moon is let alone when it rises so believe I was pretty safe.
I had just moved to New York from Paris and had certainly read the story of the Paris Phantom.
I found the story sad and felt more for the poor fellow then I did for the victims. I found in favor of the Phantom because of what he'd endured, how he'd been treated and his love for the singer that somehow got lost in the telling.
I now recognize moments of a life lived so extraordinarily, that it is no longer possible to deny that the event in my life really happened or that the Phantom really lived.
