Overview

They said it is the most rewarding experience. They said the pain ends when you hold your baby in your arms for the first time. They said it will be the happiest time of your life. They said... they said... they said... but what actually happens, is everything they didn't say.

Postpartum depression is a reality that many mothers are not prepared for. No one talks about it, and no one truly understands because it manifests differently in every woman. Most people shy away from the difficult conversations, but not anymore. We're going to talk about the part they left out, and we're going to conquer this.

About the Author

Verdi discovered a love of writing due to the praise and wonderful approach of her fifth-grade teacher. She left writing behind for a while and entered the world as an adult, where, through a twist of fate, she wound up on the hit show Bridezillas for season 13. Now as a married mom she’s stepping back into the writing world to cover important topics that need to be addressed more and destigmatized.

Verdi currently resides in Northern Virginia with her wonderful husband and adorable children. She hopes to pave a way for women to discuss uncomfortable but vital conversations. Writing about postpartum depression gives her the opportunity to not only educate others, but to offer a safe space for those worried about being judged, misunderstood, or who are otherwise afraid of facing this misinterpreted serious health concern. She hopes her message of hope will inspire those who need it most and that she’ll help change the lives of women who deserve better than to suffer in silence.
