The book is divided into six chapters: Birth Givers, Love & Heartbreaks, Life Decisions, One's Own Being, The Aching, and Death. Each chapter has its own purpose. To give you an insight in your own situations. To give you an understanding of others. To reflect on yourself. But, most importantly, this book is about how our past has affected us in the long run.

VANESSA MUNOZ is a 22-year old that has tried to put all her passions in one place, which is why she started her YouTube channel. She loves writing, fashion, baking, organizing, planning, marketing, finance and so many other things! But, out of everything she loves to do, there was one thing that resonated with her more than everything combined, and that was her passion for writing. She has been writing poems since she was 12 years old, but she never understood it to be a passion of hers until the last year or two. That is when she decided to write her own poetry book. She browsed through all her past poems and took inspiration from it to write what is now known as The Past We Carry.
