The Predetermined Destination
Rezherad looked at the princess and then stood up from her chair. She reached back with her hand and pulled out her sword, hidden in a sheath slung over her back. Fahiram gave a silent nod, and in the next moment, she stood ready with the same weapon. Stealthily, they approached the table where the peasant was still trying to pull the jug of wine from the drunk man's grasp.

They gave one another a signal with a hand: a letter X, which they wrote in the air, and then Fahiram led her sword from the man's left shoulder, across his neck to his front where the blade met Rezherad's sword, brought there from the other side. The man's eyes grew wide, and he stared, frozen, at the two swords, which could cut off his head at any moment like scissors.

Without moving his body, he set the jug of wine down on the table with care, adding a few coins from his jacket pocket.
