Overview

A twist on the tale of Romeo and Juliet ... set in the far future!

How much will she sacrifice for love?

Neith has never questioned her duty to marry according to status and wealth--until she falls in love, and the world turns on its head. Invier, lowborn but romantic, is willing to defy societal pressures and demand Neith's hand in marriage.

However, in a world where status is key, such a marital alliance would invite rival families to crush Neith's family, leaving Neith desperately struggling to find a solution that doesn't involve choosing between love and family.

The Proem is a prequel short story to The Pursual, Book 1 of The Nome Chronicles series. It weaves compelling characters, political intrigue and first love into a fast-paced tale.

About the Author

F. F. John was an incredibly inquisitive child who was encouraged to find answers in books. When she’d read everything her home had to offer and there was no more space in the house to accommodate additional books, her mother told her to write her own stories. So, she did.

Today, she continues to create worlds of characters that have a lot to say about everything. And so, she lets them. They tend to answer the questions she’s yet to find in other people’s books.

F. F. John's debut novel, The Pursual, is the first in The Nome Chronicles Series. The prequel is set for publication in May 2007 and will be followed by The Paladin in June 2017.
