Overview

This book takes a look at the organization of the Pittsburgh Pirates from Pittsburgh to Bradenton, their Spring Training home. In the book, you will receive a 2013 preview of the Pirates, some minor league stars to look for, how to get to and enjoy a trip to each of the stadiums that are in the organization, and also social media connections to reach your Pittsburgh Pirates.

In the preview, we'll look at the big league club and give you position by position potential. With each minor league level, we'll look at players who will potentially impact their level and/or could reach Pittsburgh either this year or in the future. In the Pittsburgh and Indianapolis views, you'll get potential travel locations that you can see as you make plans to visit each of the clubs. These ideas are taken from places that the author has seen, as well as some helpful information from www.visitpittsburgh.com and www.visitindy.com.

You'll get directions and the schedule for the areas that they are available. In this edition, only the West Virginia Power and GCL/Dominican sdchedules are not available at press time.

Finally, in the final section of the book, you will get all the ways to connect to your favorite Pirates and other people that deal with Pirate baseball.

The Pirates are the first of all 30 Major League teams that I will cover before Opening Day 2013, April 1.

About the Author

Frank Jenkins is the author of The Real Score.co previews. His writing career began actually in 1981, when his English teacher, Barbara Owens encouraged him to write about the goings on at Bridgeport Junior High School. That moved into a column at the Bridgeport News in 1982 for the school. After a little layoff, Frank resumed his sports writing abilities in 1992 thanks to his friend Eddie Gennoy at The Columns, Fairmont State College’s weekly newspaper.
In 1993, Frank moved on to the Shinnston News with Michael Queen, Bernie Dearth and later with Kim Gemondo. Gemondo was the one that gave Frank the idea for The Real Score column for the newspaper in 1993. Frank continued writing that until he left the paper in 1994.
After being out of writing for 14 years, Frank returned to the writing circuit as the owner/operator of One Man Revival, a ministry based teaching, at www.onemanrevival.co. In late 2012, Frank also added recipes to his resume with The Recipes of Becoming a Fat Guy, which will resume in 2013. Check that out at www.therecipesofbecomingafatguy.com.
Finally, Frank opened TheRealScore.co on the web to begin writing about sports in general, but has realized that baseball is his first love and will begin writing exclusively baseball in 2013 at www.therealscore.co.
Frank Jenkins has been married for over 10 years to Mindy Jenkins and has four beautiful children. Megan (7), James (6), Maggie (4), and Jenna (almost 2). Those children keep Frank busy when he isn’t watching baseball.
When it comes to baseball, Frank has been a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates since 1976, the first time his mother introduced him to the team on television. While he has moved from his West Virginia home, he still loves the Pirates, despite the last 20 seasons and the fact that he lives in Effingham, IL, ground zero for the battle of St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs fans.
