About the Author

Dr. Mark Schenkman’s journey through life and dentistry is a testament to his passion for healing and commitment to excellence. Born in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, New York, he spent his formative years on picturesque Long Island. His academic pursuits led him to graduate with distinction from The State University of New York in 1989, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology.
Dr. Schenkman’s dedication to dental care propelled him to pursue a D.D.S. degree from The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in Baltimore, Maryland, a milestone he achieved in 1994. Following this achievement, his quest for knowledge and expertise led him to the west coast, where he embarked on a two-year General Practice Residency at the prestigious Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Sepulveda, California, successfully completing the program in 1996.
Driven by a thirst for professional growth and a desire to serve, Dr. Schenkman continued his career in private dental practice in beautiful Napa, California, and as a civilian contract dentist at Travis Air Force Base in Sacramento, California. It was during this period that he made a pivotal decision to serve his country, dedicating himself to the United States Air Force from 1997 to 2001.
During his tenure in the USAF, Dr. Schenkman honed his skills in oral surgery, particularly in the art of wisdom teeth extraction and conscious sedation. His dedication to this field blossomed, leading him to undertake a challenging and transformative four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program at Temple University Hospital from 2001 to 2005. In recognition of his expertise and leadership, he earned the title of Chief Resident in 2005. In August of 2005, Dr. Schenkman embarked on a new chapter as an associate surgeon at Attleboro-Cumberland Oral Surgeons. His commitment and contributions to the practice led to his becoming a partner in June 2007. In 2019, Dr. Schenkman took the reins of ownership, renaming the practice to Premier One Implant Centers. His career path continued to evolve, taking him to the vibrant city of Phoenix, Arizona, in the summer of 2019. For almost three years, he commuted tirelessly between Boston and Phoenix, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to patient care and surgical excellence.
