About the Author

Like many Italians, Tony learned to cook at his mother's knee. The secret was absolutely no recipe and a lot of heart. In college at UC Berkeley, Tony realized he had to put his mom's skills to work, his way. No matter the cuisine, if Tony liked a food, he learned to make it. The luckiest recipients of his efforts are his wife Peggy and their three now-grown children, Francesca, Charlie, and Mick. In his day job Tony indulges another passion, affordable housing, as an executive at the Housing Authority of Contra Costa County. He loves putting roofs over people's heads and changing their lives.
