About the Author

A former journalist, Judy Fitzwater is the author of the popular Jennifer Marsh Mystery Series, whose sleuth is an unpublished mystery writer desperate to get published. The first in the series, Dying to Get Published, is a dark comedy. It was plucked from the slush pile at Ballantine Books, a division of Random House, and bought by the head of the mystery department. That book went on to be nominated for an Agatha Award for Best First Mystery. She swears it is not autobiographical, at least not most of it.

The subsequent books in the series have all been a joy for her to write, especially the scenes with Jennifer's eccentric writing group.

She has also published two suspense novels and a paranormal romantic comedy, in addition to The Rocky Road to Publishing.

She has presented numerous talks to writers and readers, participated in writers' panels at Malice Domestic, Bouchercon, and book festivals and was the keynote speaker at WRW's Get a Clue Mini Mystery Conference. In addition, she's taught fiction writing classes and moderated an ongoing writing group.

She's currently working on one of her numerous writing projects.
