This book serves two purposes: to educate and bring awareness to mental health and mental
illness. Many people, both adults and children, do not have a clear understanding around this
topic. It's often overlooked or frowned upon because some cultures shun it, and some people
have a religious background that views mental illness as evil. Despite varying beliefs and
miseducation, mental illness is affecting so many and claiming lives, both young and old.
Bringing awareness will break the stigma and encourage families. Help is available. Maintaining
one's mental health is possible!

About the Author

Tabitha Robinson, founder of Purposeful Tutoring & Mentoring Services, Inc. where she provides
academic and emotional support to low-income children in her community. In addition to
launching her non-profit in 2018. Her long-time interest in mental health led her to pursue an
education in the field of psychology. She now holds a Bachelor of Science with a minor
in Psychology and a Master of Art in Psychology. She is a doctoral student majoring in psychology
with a specialization in Conflict Resolution and Mediation. While pursuing her degrees and
serving as an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher, Tabitha realized that, although
serious, mental health is often overlooked and misunderstood by children and adults alike.
Compelled to expand her efforts to educate families, Tabitha wrote this informative and easy-to-
understand handbook. She is also the proud mother of two beautiful girls and lives in Fort Pierce,
Florida. When she’s not saving the world, she enjoys spending time with her family.
