JUNE 2010 - AudioFile

Paul Thornley rises to the challenge of presenting a complex plot with an extensive cast of characters. As the story unfolds and the plotlines are skillfully drawn together, Thornley's narration presents characters as diverse as drug warlords, Thai gangsters, and IRA terrorists. In particular, Thornley plays the dry humor of the main character, prison escapee Chris Hutchinson, to the hilt, making him a likable antihero. Thornley’s rich performance ensures that the detailed descriptions of the horrors of a Bangkok prison, drug addiction, and other aspects of the underworld paint a vivid backdrop for this thriller.
