Overview

Every nation holds a soul within it. Every nation has its unique identification, through which, its presence on the map of the world, is made prominent. Although different nations have different perceptions, titles, and classifications associated with them, it is the responsibility of the society to identify what holds the nation intact. The content of a nation can never thrive unless the nation is given a soul. For Edward N. Kananga, the soul of the nation is its youth. They are the writer of the story, which the nation will play in its future. They are no less than a fortuneteller for their nations. It is a must that the youth is provided with the necessary facilities which shape their future. A nation's future is not different from the future of the youths residing in it. They make a nation, and if they break, there is nothing that can hold a nation together. This book discusses why the youth of a nation holds crucial significance for a nation to exist in the future. It shows how basic provisions, including employment opportunities and ease in educational services, go hand-in-hand when it comes to directing a nation toward achieving sustainability. "If you want to change the condition which a state is in, change the mindset of its youth, the nation will follow up on the change itself."

About the Author

Edward Ntale Kananga is a passionate educator, a behavioral scientist, and an incredible writer whose works are based on real people and real-life stories. He has taught Cultural Anthropology, Cross-Cultural Counseling, and Medical Anthropology, among other courses that examine human behaviors.
Professor Kananga’s writing style transcends national borders and ethnic divisions. His writings have fascinated social scientists, behavioral scientists, educators, and parents alike. In his writings, he addresses the problem of unemployment and its impact on individuals, families, and communities.
His contribution to the literary world is the understanding that unemployment and lack of income security endured by millions of our fellow citizens is a man-made problem. This cruel beast, as the author calls it, has devoured humanity for too long, and yet it has been ignored. Its effects include severe depressive disorder, insomnia, drug and alcohol addiction, marital breakdowns, gun violence, homelessness, and other social and mental health problems.
Like the transatlantic slave trade, segregation, colonialism, apartheid, and climate change, the problem of unemployment and lack of income security needs to be faced head-on and brought to an end.
The author was born in Luweero, then in the British Protectorate of Uganda, to parents of Rwandan origin. He was educated in Canada and the United States. He worked in the United States correctional system as a forensic clinical therapist and afterward as a Professor of Behavioral Sciences in Rwanda and Canada. He uses the power of a pen as a writer and spoken words as a public speaker to address the problem of unemployment and lack of income security, but also to build bridges of understanding between people of all races, religions, and nationalities. He loves teaching, chairing meetings, reading, writing, traveling, and bowling.
