The Vicomte of Bragelonne is a novel by Alexandre Dumas, père. It is the third of the d'Artagnan Romances, following Twenty Years After. It appeared first in serial form between 1847 and 1850 and in French contained 268 chapters including all four of the last of the musketeer saga. It was called The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years Later. In the English translations the 268 chapters of this large volume are subdivided into four individual books. In the four-volume English editions, the volumes are titled "The Vicomte de Bragelonne", “Ten Years Later”, "Louise de la Vallière", and "The Man in the Iron Mask" Each of these volumes is roughly the length of the original The Three Musketeers. This third volume covers the year 1660, and is followed by the novel Ten Years After
