About the Author

I am married with 4 children and currently live in Victoria, B.C.. I love travelling and I love kids, specially my own. Our family trips are my inspiration as they are some of the best memories of my life. The time spent together gives us a wonderful family bond and the education my kids have from their trips is invaluable. Having travelled the world fairly extensively, I started to write in order to share with children how amazing our world is and how important it is to look after it and appreciate what we have. I have had so many people over the years tell me that they did not want to go to a certain place because of a fear of something.... ex. "I would never go to Australia because it is full of snakes and spiders". Yes, Australia does have snakes and spiders, but in the 5 years I lived in Australia I saw one snake and never encountered a poisonous spider. Driving in L.A. is kind of crazy, in my opinion, but do people not go to L.A. because it has cars? I want to encourage kids to not live in fear of the unknown. We miss out on so much in life if we live in fear. Our world is incredible.....explore, appreciate, and care for it and each other.

Poor PJ is dropped in a puddle after he's bought in a store but Emily finds him and he turns out to be a lucky mouse because he gets to go on a vacation through Canada. The Travel Adventures of PJ Mouse in Canada encourages children to use their imagination as well as teaching about some of the exciting places in Canada. The illustrations look like they are done in watercolour or colour pencil. They beautifully depict the places Emily's family and PJ travel to along with PJ's adventures. The stories are very easy to read for beginning readers and short adventures for a quick bedtime story. This book would make any child happy for a book to read and to have read to them. This is the first in a series and I am excited to find out what happens in the next book. I love this series. You get great information and wonderful pictures. I can't wait to see what PJ does next. - see more at jbronderbookreviews I have yet to find a book that replaces my favourite children's book, but The Travel Adventure Of PJ Mouse (both of the books that I am reviewing) comes a close second. These are the types of stories I want to share with my friend's children, G & B because it's about adventure and exploring. I feel that adventuring and exploring, as in exploring the world around you is missing in many children's books these days. S0 for me Gwyneth and Megan have hit the nail on the head. I love Megan's illustrations, they are so cute! I love illustrations that look like they have been drawn or painted, I'm not a huge fan of digitally done drawing. They have a place, just perhaps not in children's books in my opinion. As for the story, I really liked it. I have family in Canada, so it's been a joy for me to read about some of the places they talk fondly about. I like the interaction between PJ, Emily and her siblings, you can tell that the siblings are very close.
