The Unguidebook Sydney
This one-of-a-kind travel book provides you with a sense of place rather than a list of places to go.

Come along on a visual storytelling journey to one of the world's most beautiful cities and find out what it's really like even before you book your ticket. "The Unguidebook Sydney" is the second volume in the travel book series that features the theme "A Picture Is Worth 1,000 Characters". The authors put a unique stamp on their personal reflections by giving a modern twist to the old phrase, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Each of the 47 enlightening and entertaining impressions features an original photograph and a story that's exactly 1,000 characters long.

The iconic Opera House is a marvelous place to start, but there's so much more to Sydney that that. Explore the seemingly endless waterfront to discover Sydney's maritime roots and love of anything that floats. Plunge into one of the city's idyllic bays, coves or nearby seawater pools. Take a stroll along the vibrant Circular Quay and central business district or an easy day hike overlooking the sapphire waters of the Pacific Ocean just minutes from downtown. Sydney offers an adventure and cultural experience for everyone.

Whether you plan to visit this corner of the world or simply experience it vicariously, "The Unguidebook Sydney" does what few books do and gives you a real sense of place. For those travelers who plan to visit both of Australia's largest cities, you may prefer to buy instead "The Unguidebook Sydney & Melbourne." It contains 68 stories and 83 photographs of these two amazing destinations and their environs. Both books are also available on Kindle with color photos and in paperback with black and white photos.

About the Author

MacKenzie and Doug were bitten by the travel bug at the very beginning of their marriage when they chose to have a small wedding and a big honeymoon. That 10-week adventure took them through western Europe. Thirty-five years later, they’ve visited 20 countries and 38 American states. They look upon every new destination as a chance to immerse themselves in another culture and an opportunity to share their experiences through their writing and photographs.

When they’re not traveling, Doug is often found perfecting his craft of making gourmet truffles and MacKenzie works equally as hard perfecting her craft as a taste tester. (Someone has to do it.)
