About the Author

David Parsons is a social and cultural historian of 20th century America, teaching at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, New York University. His primary research interests include the Vietnam War in American memory, social and political protest movements of the 1960s and 1970s, and the shifting landscape of media and technology. He also hosts a weekly podcast called The Nostalgia Trap that uses personal biographies to explore the social, political, and cultural history of the past several decades.Marci Reaven is vice president for History Exhibitions, New-York Historical Society.
