Overview

16-year-old Jp has come to Malta for the summer to work with his mentor Alex Fenech, a young professor at the University of Malta and to experience more fully his life as a young werewolf. Alex is trying to recover as much as possible of the forgotten history of the werewolves of Malta and their connection to the ancient nameless Mother-Goddess whose worship was once central to their existence. But why, in various places scattered over the island, does Jp again and again detect the scent of a woman he has never met? Why would anyone, especially a mature woman, want to follow him? And when he falls asleep one night along the shore and wakes in his lykan form, with that women petting and talking to him, could he ever, except in his randiest adolescent dreams, have imagined what would happen next?

In The Virgin by Moonlight, the reader dives more deeply into the story which began with the courtship of Alex and Melody in The Goddess Moon and continued with Jp's initiation into the life of the werewolf in Weird Stories from the Old Country. Now questions arise which even Alex's research cannot answer: is the Goddess more than a myth? Has she decided to appear to her disciples once again?
