Overview

"The Way-Just Call Me Josh" by F. Byron Smith

Because this novel portrays our precious Savior in a secular setting, the sins of the associates spill out in an ugly, unflattering manner. Flawed people accomplish God's plan. The Bible depicts lust, violence, fear, and human weaknesses in an earthy way. So does this book. This story communicates God's great love for humans in a form designed to entice people who want to read interesting stories. But they may not spend much time reading the Holy book.

The ideas expressed in this book maintain consistency with the concepts in Holy Scripture. The subject matter reverently emphasizes God's great love for humanity. Empathizing God's abundant love provided the impetus and purpose for this action-adventure, romantic, multicultural story.

Very short synopsis:

Josh, CEO of a multinational conglomerate saturated the media with stories of God's love. His miracles went viral. Many think he is Jesus. The UN charged him with crimes against humanity, The reader decides.

Short synopsis:

Josh, a relaxed CEO of an international mega-corporation, selected twelve associates to overwhelm the web and other media with morality stories. Josh's miracles went viral on social media. Charged by the United Nations with serious crimes, Interpol, Homeland Security, FBI, ATF, Mossad, FSB, and MI6 seek to arrest him. Evil forces and the Mafia want to kill him. The reader chooses between two endings. Both endings portray God's mighty power and His abundant love for humankind.

Long synopsis:

The story begins with Petra working as an Internet Manager for Shalom Advertising in Tel Aviv. She received a job offer to become a Vice President of the Way Division at a worldwide enterprise based in Brisbane. Petra ignored the request because of her loyalty to the man who hired her. She also had an aging mother to support.

Her mentor and mother die. Petra realized she had received gender discrimination and accepted the offer. Her job consisted of managing advertising and writing tweets, and blogs. In addition, Petra was responsible for producing a video series called "Love's Way."

"Love's Way" allowed the inclusion of a series of morality stories. The story portrayed God's love for humans by repeatedly outlining the shows. Chaucer used this technique in "The Canterbury Tales." Her manager, Joshua Cohen, commented on God's love after each episode. Josh's twelve associates watch his miracles and transfiguration and decide Josh was Jesus. God looked down from Heaven and decided to send His Son back for a non-prophesied visit. The series began filming in the U.S.

Evil forces in the world did want Josh's declaration of God's love to succeed. Rumors erupted indicating that Josh had committed charity fraud and other serious crimes. The associates were attacked on multiple occasions. The FBI and DEA caused the associates' arrest. Petra left the group and denied knowing Josh. Yep, three times.

Backstories show that all associates had serious sins and flaws. Petra and several associates found romance. Josh had interviews with RNN (think CNN), "Ninety Minutes." ("Sixty Minutes'), and "Meet The Guest" ("Meet The Press"). Josh asked everyone to just call him Josh. Because of the media saturation, the United States President, Iranian Ayatollah, Israeli Premier, Southern Baptists, and the Pope, met with their constituents to discuss the worldwide phenomenon.

The novel includes a United Nations meeting to decide if Josh's case should be sent to the World Court. The reader can decide if Josh was Jesus or a charlatan. Both endings show God's power and love.
