Overview

The White Cat was originally a short story I wrote for a college creative writing class. The story was popular with the class, so I recently decided to dig it up and give it a rewrite. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. It's about a boy named Leland who, on the morning of his thirteenth birthday, finds a white cat locked in a toolshed. Having long wished for a cat, he takes the friendly feline with him on a trip to a nearby sinkhole. The events that follow will haunt Leland for the rest of his life.
