Overview

Set in a serene suburban locale, The Worn-Out Flag is a captivating picture book that introduces young readers to the tale of a Marine reservist's son. With vivid, realistic illustrations that evoke Americana nostalgia, this book transports readers into a world where respect, patriotism, and understanding flow generously.

A somber yet beautiful journey unfolds when Miguel and Sam learn the symbolic meaning behind the flag's stars, stripes, and colors and hear Miguel's father's inspirational journey from a Scout to a Marine. The story teaches readers about dignity, respect, and the depth of sacrifice symbolized by the flag.

Intended for children ages 4-8 and their families, The Worn-Out Flag aims to educate about the significance of our flag and instill a sense of unity and respect for service members among military and non-military communities.
