Dr. Ford is a native of Ware, Illinois. Both of her parents were born and raised in Thebes, Illinois. She lives in De Soto, Illinois, is retired from health care administration. She is a Registered Nurse and holds a Master's degree in Rehabilitation and a Doctoral degree in Health Education.

Brother, Archie G. Hazel lives in Jonesboro, Illinois and is a retired building contractor. He contributed some of the news articles and served as editor for the book.

Evelyn Holshouser-Caldwell lives near Thebes and served as content editor.
