About the Author

Joshua McKenney grew up in Tulsa, OK, and is a 2020 Tulsa School of Arts and Sciences graduate. He is currently attending Southern New Hampshire University with a major in photography. Joshua’s love for photography happened while attending TSAS; wanting to learn more, he enrolled in Tulsa Community College, taking photography courses while still attending high school.

Not sure if he wanted to attend college, he decided to stay out a year to focus on photography and the business he started, Zachariah Photography, taking high school senior portraits and capturing special events. Still unsatisfied later, in 2021, he decided to enroll in Southern New Hampshire University, where he was accepted and will graduate in 2024.

Joshua was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at a young age. During his elementary years and high school years, he was on an IEP because the teachers thought he could not keep up with the other students with the amount of work that was given, though teased because of his disability and being on an IEP, that did not stop him from his willingness to learn and excel, he leaned on his faith and trust in God and did not allow people to define who he was as a person.
