About the Author

Patrick Witz has from his youth always been fascinated with science, strange discoveries, technology, earth and other worldly places presented in National Geographic and Popular Mechanics. He is a steadfast believer that knowledge and imagination are a powerful combination and readily admits he will forever be a student of the arts, be it creative writing, photograph, or any other artistic interest or endeavor.

In his writing, Patrick likes to blend genres and his eclectic nature leads him into a labyrinth of fictional paths. Patrick’s writing goal is to bring his written words to life in reader’s minds… therein to strum reader’s emotional cords; sculpt intriguing characters; create captivating relatable dialogue; and word-paint intricate colorful settings. One can say Patrick’s diversity is the spice of his writing – sometimes sweet, every now and again bitter, often mixed with a sprinkle of humor, a pinch of peculiar flavor, and finished off with an emotional or unsuspecting twist.

David Loofbourrow expresses his unique life experience in the creative challenge of word-craft, adding “author” and “playwright” to his eclectic list of careers: missionary, counselor, principal, minister, teacher, entrepreneur, software/graphics designer, and organizational architect. In addition to writing and his day-job building websites and publication graphics, he is on the board of two choral organizations where is the president of one and the director/producer of an area-wide choral festival in the other.

Current non-fiction projects include works in personal/spiritual growth and a practical guide to organization change. David’s fiction often explores the humanity of people in crisis. He is working on a collection of fictionalized Bible stories, a micro-fiction series called “Tragedies at Midnight” and a one-act play about elder dating.

Davin L. Kent writes fiction with rainbow colors, focusing on M/M Romance and LGBT-themed literary fiction. After (too many) years of writing for business and education, he successfully rose to the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) challenge. Now, with almost a half million words on disk, he’s ready to release a few chapters to the public.

Davin swears his three-volume soap-opera style novel is not autobiographical. The first book is the tale of a talented high school loner, David, who breaks away from his trailer-trash roots to grow up and come out in the 1990s. The second installment follows David to college, where he becomes a super model with Olympic athlete dreams and the most sought after boy-toy slash porn star in Hollywood. Until he isn’t. The third book finds David twenty years later, a successful screen writer with a past that comes back to haunt him. Watch for more about the “Confessions of Saint David” here or contact Davin L. Kent on social media or email at author@dlkent.com.

Evelina Dunn has always been a romantic, writing at the age of nine when she penned her adventures traveling from California with her family as they joined her step-father in France for a 3-year tour of duty with the United States Air Force. The years spent living in France served to enrich an experience that would last a lifetime for Evelina. Two of her favorite possessions were a worn, leather-bound notebook, and a Brownie camera. Being one of the finalists for the coveted Newberry Award for Juvenile Fiction at the age of 13 served to fuel her increasing literary enthusiasm.
Writing became not only a lovely pastime over the next few decades, but also a way to share her love of gardening as Evelina wrote about life on a 5-acre country home in the Blue Mountain area of Calaveras County, California, sharing highlights in a column for the town newspaper, The West Point News.
These were full and productive days for Evelina in the Gold Country of the Sierra Nevada, writing business reviews and feature articles as a reporter for The Calaveras Times, another local newspaper, while traveling with her husband throughout the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
Retired in 2013, she and her husband now reside in Amador County on one-acre lot just outside of Sutter Creek, where they have lived the past thirteen years. She loves the 1930’s stucco home that a past foreman of the Eureka gold mine once called home. Seasonal flowers flourish and thrive in their gardens, while chickens and one cat enjoy life there. Their seven grandchildren have enjoyed visiting this country haven through the years.
Evelina’s creative writing had a gratifying, 14-year outlet as the editor/publisher of The Gold Country Times, the ‘Good News’ newspaper – formerly known as The Calaveras Times – reaching readers in four counties. There may be a book or two in her future gleaned from her numerous experiences. For now, romance and fantasy unfold on the pages of her most current short story, one of excitement, mystery and intrigue.
