JOE MEDINA was born in Managua, Nicaragua in 1968. He studied at Hoover Street Elementary School
where he was selected into the Gifted Program when in Kindergarten. He received a GED and High
School Diploma while in the sixth grade. He attended West Point Military Academy in 1979. That same year
he earned a PhD in Psychology. He served in the Army from 1986 to 1987 at seventeen and received the
Distinguished Graduate Award, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Army Driver’s Badge Award.
He volunteered his services as a corpsman for the Los Ageles Conservation Corps, a medic at UCLA,
an officer for the LAPD and agent for the FBI and the CIA. He continued volunteering as an LDS Missionary
in Mexico City D.F. from 1992 to 1994 where shortly there after he became a Sheriff in Mexico. He has
degrees in Liberal Arts and Computer Information Systems from Los Angeles Trade Technical College.
Joe Medina resides in Los Angeles. He married in 2004 and is father of two.
