About the Author

SAM KING is a veteran sportswriter, editor and columnist, having worked his entire career with the Baton Rouge State-Times and The Advocate, beginning in 1956. He retired in 2001 and continued writing his popular column, “Sam’s Kingdom of Sports,” for the Sunday Advocate for another eight years.

He is the author of two books, ‘Cholly Mac’ and Tiger Beat, and the co-author of one, Tiger Turnaround. He and his wife Linda live near Pierre Part, Louisiana.
