Overview

Swap stories, thoughts, and doodles with your six-to-nine-year-old daughter! Fun weekly prompts and activities will strengthen your special bond and spark meaningful conversations in this journal meant for girls and their moms.

Do you ever wonder what’s going through your daughter’s mind—how her school day really went, what made her laugh, what her biggest wish is? Written for girls and moms by a licensed family therapist, this pass-back-and-forth journal gives your daughter a fun way to explore her daily life, the world around her, and her feelings—both big and small—while you offer loving support through thoughtful prompts and on-the-page activities.

What’s more, you’ll have a keepsake full of precious memories to look back on at the end of the year!

Time for You and Me! includes:

  • Reflective prompts—engaging, age-appropriate fill-in-the-blank questions for both Mom and Daughter to answer, with enough room to write or draw your responses.
  • Hands-on creative activities—join your daughter in exploring her imagination, both on and off the page.
  • Free space to express yourselves—sometimes words just aren’t enough to describe how we’re feeling or what we’re experiencing. On these blank pages, you and your daughter can exchange doodles, works of art, or other questions you’d like to ask each other.
  • Inspiring quotes—helpful words of wisdom to encourage your daughter’s trust and confidence in herself as well as in your relationship.

Mom, you can’t always be right there with your daughter as she grows and explores this complex world, but this journal can serve as a special place for you both to connect and learn from one another!

What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

“I can’t wait to use this journal with my daughter and to recommend it to clients and friends! Amanda has captured the most important factors for a child in this developmental stage. A kid who completes this journal is a kid who is going to have the language to share their feelings, communicate well with others, and be able to take self-compassion and self-love with them throughout their lives.”
Juliet Kuehnle, therapist, author, and founder of Sun Counseling & Wellness

“If only this journal existed when I was a preteen! Despite our best intentions, it’s so hard to find time in our busy lives to slow down and connect with our loved ones in a meaningful way. Amanda has done such a wonderful job of prompting mothers and daughters to openly share with each other and strengthen communication—the foundation of all healthy relationships. This journal is a treasure!”
Christine Joy Llewellyn, art teacher and founder of Christine Joy Design

Time for You and Me! is a playful and welcoming mother-daughter journal that beautifully helps mothers and daughters explore their feelings and build connection through various prompts and activities. I recommend this journal to all the mamas out there who are looking for a fun way to find deeper connection with their young daughters.”
Christine Mark-Griffin, LCSW, EMDR therapist and author of EMDR Workbook for Kids
