About the Author

Jennie M. Bragaw was born in Fresno, California, and spent much of her childhood in the San Joaquin Valley, where she was often pulled from school to work in the fields. As a child, she and her family worked the fields from Salinas, California, to Yuma, Arizona. She was educated at Rutgers University, where she studied Education and Psychology; and she also studied in Warminster, England (not far from Stonehenge). Jennie has worked as an elementary school teacher, raised two children, and is now a grandmother of five. She is a member of the American Library Association, and the Society for Childrens Book Writers and Illustrators. She lives in Huntington Beach, California, with her husband, who is an attorney, and her German Shepherd dog. Jennie is also the author of The Marble Harvest. She participated in two author panels regarding childrens literature at the Latino Book and Family Festival at California State University, San Bernardino, on May 4, 2013. She travels extensively throughout California reading her books to children, and donating her books to libraries, schools, and homes for children.
