About the Author

Edie Stoltz Zolkower grew up in Newington, Connecticut. Most of her childhood was spent playing the flute and reading. Edie graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) with a degree in psychology. She and her husband met in college, and they recently took a trip to Alaska to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. They have one college-aged son. Edie's hobbies include reading, cooking, long walks, and watching women's college basketball. Her favorite team is the UCONN Huskies. She is currently back in school working on a second degree in sign language interpretation.

The traditional blend of apples, nuts, cinnamon, and sweet wine or grape juice has left visiting family members disappointed in the past, so each one decides to add a surprise ingredient, including Bubbie. In the truest tradition of "miracles," the day is saved when two unexpected callers deliver a special batch of their charoses. Humorous illustrations lend support to the frenzied goings-on in this busy household, and the artist lets readers feel the excitement and happy anticipation of the holiday. Some basic information on Passover and a recipe for "Non-Atrocious Charoses" are appended.
