The young dragon Vendevorex arrives in the court of the dragon king Albekizan claiming to be a wizard. Albekizan tests the wizard by having him use his powers to kill a family of humans. The consequences of this action change Vendevorex forever and reverberate through the entire trilogy. An excellent jumping on spot for readers new to the trilogy, while readers familiar with the books will discover key insights into the early lives of several major characters.
