About the Author

Gabrielle Harris has been involved in the training of animals, especially dolphins, seals and horses for more than twenty years. She is currently chief animal trainer at uShaka Sea World in Durban South Africa with responsibility for the dolphins, seals and penguins. She is also an accredited trainer for Horse Gentlers International and in her spare time heads up a Horse Training organization.

Touching Animal Souls is no misnomer. From the very onset Ms. Harris clearly sets the stage on a delicate topic. How do we as animal professionals maintain professional distance in balance with the emotional attachment that is required to be effective trainers. When I went into this read, it was with a sense of hope that someone was finally willing to touch on the emotional aspects of what we do as professionals. To be clear, Ms. Harris doesn't disappoint in any or form.
