About the Author

ANTHONY P. DECAPRIO is Professor of Environmental Health Sciences, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Previously, he served as Director of the Exposure Assessment Laboratory, University of Albany, New York, and as a Research Scientist in the Laboratory of Human Toxicology and Molecular Epidemiology for the New York State Department of Health. His research interests include the theory and practical use of biomarkers in exposure analysis, the toxicology of persistent organic pollutants, and the application of macromolecular modifications (DNA and protein adducts) in human exposure and toxicological safety assessment. Dr. DeCaprio received the Ph.D. degree (1981) in toxicology from Albany Medical College, New York.
