About the Author

Texas born and bred, Holly Bebernitz moved to Jacksonville, Florida, with her parents in 1967. Brought up among mesquite trees and tumbleweeds, she still appreciates living in a city on a river, near the sea. After college and a year of traveling with a drama and music team, she returned home, married, had three children, and taught speech, English, and later history on the secondary and college levels. Her debut novel, Trevorode the Defender, begun in 1998, remained unfinished until she retired from classroom teaching in 2010 to become a full-time grandmother. She looks forward to writing the sequel.
