Overview

Two Friends and 4000 miles is a simple yet detailed account of a Trans-American bike ride. The book details each day's journey from the eyes of one of the riders. It gives insight to those left at home and the struggle to find answers to relationship questions between a young marriage and their first child. Raw and truthful, the book allows the reader inside the mind of 36 year-old Jeff Harshbarger as he attempts to ride his bicycle across the United States while trying to reconcile with leaving his wife of 3 years and 5 month old son at home.
Riding with his longtime friend and riding partner Tom Sims, the book uses the actual journal Jeff wrote each night of the trip to describe the ride. The book gives the reader a inside look at bicycle touring as well as how a relationship can grow through adversity and distance. Each journal entry includes color photographs with captions.
