About the Author

Judith Dutson has had a lifelong interest in horses and other animals. She is the author of Getting Your First Horse, Horse Breeds of North America and 96 Horse Breeds of North America. She holds a master's degree in behavior genetics, worked with wolves and coyotes and is a former zoo curator. For the past 27 years has owned and operated a recuperative care facility for horses recovering from illness or surgery.
