Charles More is Principal Lecturer in History at Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education. His previous books include The Industrial Age: Economy and Society in Britain 1750–1990 (2nd edition, Longman, 1997). He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
