Overview

The book's purpose is to provide helpful, practical advice for preachers and pastors concerning the call to ministry. It was born out of a ministry defense paper written by the author while he was a student of the Newburgh Theological Seminary Earned Doctor of Divinity Program.

The book is geared toward those God has called into ministry and challenges readers to take a serious look into their role and calling and reevaluate the serious tasks it requires. He emphasizes the concept that to be effective in ministry, you need to understand your calling and the responsibility that goes along with it.

He writes that ministry training never ends and encourages readers to always continue learning, sharing how he himself still takes online classes and uses whatever resources he can to continue to grow.

The author is a clear and effective communicator. He writes in a way that readers will be able to relate to and shares examples from his own experiences in ministry to help support the material being discussed.
