Audience: Written for the small animal veterinarian, the book will benefit those interested in surgical techniques for the urinary system. The author is a well-qualified professor of veterinary surgery.
Features: The book covers urological abnormalities in dogs and cats in a very visual manner. It presents images of radiographic techniques (contrast urethrography, cystography), surgical procedures (stomatization of intramural ectopic ureter, ruptured bladder repair, urinary tract trauma, prostatic diseases, etc.). This book illustrates surgical procedures in great detail and has 3 to 5 illustrations on every page. The title is a bit misleading, as it is a surgically oriented atlas and is aimed at veterinarians needing surgical guidance for urological disorders.
Assessment: This is a very detailed surgical atlas of urological disorders of the dog and cat. It is best suited for veterinary practitioners who are interested in common and advanced surgical techniques. Due to its focus, it is a very helpful addition to the surgical literature.
