This book is dedicated to the variations of the vasculature tree of the brain and cranial base. The main purpose is to consolidate the classifications of variations of the vasculature of the brain and cranial base. In some cases the contributors had to simplify variations for clarity. This book is targeted to neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuroradiologists, and neuroendovascular interventionists, whether students, residents, fellows, or faculty. It describes and superbly illustrates the anatomical variants encountered when studying the vascular tree of the brain. Each of the major intracranial arteries as well as the venous system and the external and internal carotid artery are studied in depth. Appendixes guide the serious student to the appropriate references. This is an excellent contribution to the understanding and management of neurological and neurosurgical emergencies, written by a well known group of neuroscientists.
