New and revised spellings and added details and characters breathe new life into the story of King Sigurd and Queen Gwynnayln-Brunhilda, Sigmund, and Eileza as they begin the long and bitter struggle against the tyrannical sorcerer of Dakkia, Adawulf Hister Carpathia. The people of Midgard dwelt in an age of peace for five hundred years after the great flood, until a tyrant arose, united the savage tribes of the Midgard Steppes under his dominion, and set out on the path of world conquest, unleashing all manner of terrible atrocities. Now, King Sigurd dares to stand against the tranny and fight against swarms of Goblins, Ogres, Gargoyles, and their human allies. Loki, fallen from his glory in Asgard has breathed power into the sorcerer Hister, and together with his evil dragon Jormungandr, seeks revenge against, Michael, Gabriel, Wotan, and Thor in a heavenly battle that is sure to rock the universe. Who will win? Find out in the new second edition of what is sure to become a timeless classic, Visigothic: The Barbarians of Midgard.
This is truly an epic story that requires many volumes to tell and Jay P. Newcomb continues to produce more volumes in the series, five of which have been published as of this writing. As of this writing, there are five unpublished, complete manuscripts in the series with another in progress. This revised first volume contains updates to spellings and other ideas that became more fully developed as the work progressed. Included in this edition, for the first time, are the maps of Midgard that were hand-painted by Mr. Newcomb, as well as a spread of full colour images in order to enhance the experience of the readers as they are introduced into the world of Midgard, which is rather a parallel world to our own that is similar to our ancient past, yet also quite different as you will discover. Also, this is the first hardcover edition of this work that has been specifically produced as a hardcover edition by Visigothic Saga Publications. About the Author

Jay P. Newcomb grew up reading history and enjoying the discovery of the past. He later became a soldier in the U.S. Army's famous 11the Armored Cavalry Regiment, the Blackhorse, where he was assigned for four years to duties along the former East German Border at what is now known as Point Alpha. He was able to travel during off-duty times and explored many castles and other important places in central Europe. He began to discover his Germanic heritage, his connections to his barbarian ancestors who lived in the region where he found himself, as well as his Anglo-Saxon heritage from England, and is a person who is very proud of his heritage. In the years after the army, he explored writing other genres but due to the closed nature of the publishing world during the 1990s no one would look at his work for any consideration. During this time he was married and raised two children, a son and a daughter who are now quite successful in their careers. With the change in the nature of the publishing industry, Mr. Newcomb returned to writing in multiple genres and converted to Messianic Judaism, later receiving ordination as a Messianic Rabbi. During this time he began working on the Visigothic Saga, for which he drew inspiration from the dark forests and brooding castles of northern Europe, as well as the great works of English Literature such as Shakespeare and Chaucer, and the Arthurian Legends. The final decision to began the original book was his reading of the Viking and Icelandic Sagas, in particular the Volsung Saga, but perhaps his greatest inspiration came from the immortal works of J.R.R. Tolkien and the operas of Richard Wagner. He drew inspiration as well from works of mystical Judaism and the Bible in the development of the Elves and other characters in the story. Mr. Newcomb thanks everyone for reading his stories, not only the Visigothic Saga but his other works as well, such as his work of Medieval alliterative poetry and short stories titled, Middangeard.
