About the Author

Jay P. Newcomb grew up as a fan of history. He later served in the 11the Armored Cavalry Regiment during the 1980s along what is now, the former East German Border. He was able to explore medieval castles and monasteries, as well as walk the deep forests of Hessen, in the most formative experience of his life. Newcomb has a pedigree that is traceable for nearly a thousand years, going back to Anglo Saxon England and also to Rothenbach, Germany and has a love for the great works of western literature from Chaucer to Shakespeare. Foremost of the works that inspire him are those of J.R.R. Tolkien, the Norse Sagas, and the Wagnerian Operas such as the Ring of the Nibelungs. He seeks to leave his readers with a sense of wonder as they read his books, and hopes to provide them with and escape from the unimaginative machine age in which we live, and take them into the magical world of Midgard.
