K Kelly is an avid Modern Jazz enthusiast. He proudly owns a vintage collection of over 1000 classic jazz CDs. Best of the Best Modern Jazz is an effort to compile his significant knowledge of the genre to assist others who want to develop and enjoy their own modern jazz collection. His documentary entitled, "The Gospel of Jazz" debuted at the East Cleveland Public Library in May of 2018.

He also oversee a non-profit initiative called Pride in Literary where youth who are winning contestants in literary contests become published co-authors in the Our Young Voices publication.
