About the Author

Darius Wilson grew up in a fun home with his parents and all his siblings involved in the arts. His preference was being a ventriloquist. Fast forward fifteen years and the pre-teenaged amateur ventriloquist is now a professional voice over actor and loving every minute of it.

He decided to write the book as his journey to becoming a voice over actor was rough and he wants to make it a lot less difficult for those young actors who are just starting out. It was actually a fun project for him and he relied a lot on his own experiences to use as material for this book. Like any other career, he believes that if you give it your all, then competitive or not, you will be able to eventually find success as a voice over actor.

He advises actors to be willing to spread their wings and try their hands at all or as many aspects of the business as possible, but then zeroing in on the ones that best suit your voice and concentrate on those so that you can be as successful at them as possible.

Wilson spends half of his time working and the next half doing workshops for future voice over actors, charging just enough to keep the program going, as his aim is not to profit from it, but to offer a service.
