Wars and Heroes: Battle of the Red-Cliffs
Our story picks up from where the imperial Prime Minister Tsao Tsao decides to amass a large army to invade the South, having defeated his archrival Yuan Shao in the North and taken control of his territories. He views Liu Bei and Sun Quan as the only two remaining obstacles to his dream of a united grand empire under his rule.
Meanwhile, the royalist Liu Bei takes refuge with the aging warlord Liu Biao. He and his two sworn brothers continue in their quest to restore the Liu family to its former glory days. Liu finds Zhu Ge Liang and convinces him to join him as his chief counselor.

Faced with Tsao Tsao's menacing Northern Expeditionary Force, Liu adopts Zhu's strategy of an alliance with Sun Quan. An epic battle ensues between Liu Bei/Sun Quan and Tsao Tsao, with armies on both sides fighting ferocious battles on land and sea, culminating at the Red-Cliffs. In its aftermath, the Middle Kingdom was split into a triumvirate, which ruled China from 220–263 AD.

About the Author

A rising junior at Rye Country Day School in Rye, New York, Robert Wang conceived the Wars and Heroes series during the pandemic year of 2020, when his school days went virtual. A Kingdom in Turmoil was published in 2022 as the first of a trilogy. Book 2 (Battle of the Red-Cliffs) and Book 3 (The Conquest of No Return) are to be released concurrently in 2023.
Robert draws his literary inspiration from his love of ancient history and enthusiasm as a top-ranked junior saber fencer. He hopes to follow in the footsteps of adventure writers such as Alexandre Dumas, as he brings more swashbuckling tales from ancient China to a global audience.
