Overview

The subject of climate change has become politically and emotionally charged. Many writers will have you believe we have two camps: the climate alarmists and the climate deniers. Most of us fit into a third camp: climate sceptics that have diminished confidence in many subject-matter experts on climate.
We'd like to rekindle your interest. With a little bit of primer in the front end, we'll take you on an inspiring journey of amazing events that alter Earth's climate as it performs its mission to sustain life. Never before has anyone architected then analyzed Earth's climate system in a holistic fashion along with its many fail-safe mechanisms, cyclic behaviors, and periodic fits of temper.
Our story does have a strong scientific and engineering orientation to entice the climate experts and the technically minded folks but is moderated for the casual reader as well. We apply a highly structured approach that we also employed on many space systems design and development programs. We do our best to stay neutral on the more controversial climate change claims, but we do not shy away from the controversy. We present various sides to the arguments so that you can decide on your neutral stance or a preferred position. Also, this book is highly sourced. Consequently, we bring you up to date on the more recent research.
