Evangelical pastors Kevin DeYoung and Greg Gilbert give us a book written, as they point out, for other pastors. Narrator Adam Verner conveys passion for the subject of the church’s mission to spread the gospel, and he seems to read with intent to convince listeners of the same. His narration, though fervent, is not too preachy and fits the subject matter. However, the authors illustrate their points by expounding on a wide array of passages in the Bible. And at one point, they suggest that the listener follow along with an open Bible. One, therefore, must question whether audio is the best medium for this work.
