This book is an introduction to musculoskeletal radiology, specifically designed for the needs of first-year residents. About the Author

Ronald Eisenberg, MD, JD is Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and a Staff Radiologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He has published widely in radiology, including What Radiology Residents Need to Know: Chest Radiology (2020) with Springer.

This style of book is necessary and meets its objective by providing succinct overviews of a wide array of basic topics. The material is easy to read and enables readers to develop a solid foundation of knowledge in musculoskeletal radiology.
Audience: This book is written specifically for first-year radiology residents on their first subspecialty rotation in musculoskeletal radiology. The book meets the needs of its intended audience. The author is a credible authority in radiology based on his credentials and multiple publications.
Features: The amount of material in musculoskeletal radiology can be overwhelming. This book provides a way to deliver the large amount of material in this subspecialty in a simple, bulleted format meant to keep the readers engaged and not inundated by dense subject material. The book uses a lot of high-resolution images that depict the pathology very well, and also includes additional images online to supplement the material.
Assessment: This is a high-quality introductory book catered to first-year radiology residents in their first musculoskeletal rotation. The book delivers on providing clear and concise introductions to the majority of the basic topics in the discipline, and would be an extremely useful addition to any first-year radiology resident's textbook collection. I have not come across a comparable text that solely uses a bulleted approach to topics while also providing brief, adequate introductory descriptions to topics the way this book does. This alone makes the title unique. I highly recommend this book to any first-year resident on their musculoskeletal radiology rotation.
